Important Update - National Lockdown

Government Guidance Letter: Stay at home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives

Important Covid19 Update

Dear all

Following the announcement of a national lockdown at 8pm on January 4th by the Prime Minister we will be extending our remote delivery, which was already in place for the next two weeks, to at least February half term. Summer exams will not go ahead as planned and all exams timetabled prior to the February half term have been postponed.

To ensure that no student is disadvantaged we have been consulting with the Exam Organisations to find alternative arrangements where exams have been cancelled during this period.  Students unable to take their assessment during the lockdown period may be able to take assessments at a later date. If that is not possible other arrangements are being investigated to ensure that no learner is disadvantaged.  We will issue further guidance on exams as it becomes available.

The college remains open for vulnerable children and the children of critical workers although for practical reasons you are likely to receive remote delivery of your lessons even if you do attend site. If you believe that you fall into this category and want to attend site please contact your tutor or student mentor to discuss this in the first instance and do not attend site without the prior approval of the Senior Leadership Team.

Full attendance in remote sessions is expected, and will be monitored in the usual way.

I know that this is a difficult time for all and if you are struggling please talk to a colleague, friend or our mental health advisor. They and we will do our best to support you. We will be circulating further information on the range of support available over the coming days.

My very best wishes to you all
