Engineering

The Engineering workshop is a brilliant place for you to learn the skills you need for the trade with hands-on techniques.

We offer a wide range of courses giving you a broad range of education and training in key areas such as:

• Mechanical
• Production
• Electrical and Maintenance
• Electrical Installations
• Electronics
• Computer Aided Design (CAD)
• Rapid Prototyping Technology
• Welding
• Robotics

You will be taught by staff with extensive industrial experience in their chosen fields in a wide range of facilities.

You’ll use standard industrial equipment including:

• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
• A mini digger
• Rough terrain forklift
• 3D printing
• 2D and 3D CAD
• and other software to enable you to gain hands-on experience to support your learning.

Post-qualification you can follow on to Higher Education either directly to university or through an Apprenticeship combined with HNC/D, with a variety of options available at Grantham College.
