Our Locations

Grantham College is a small general further education college based on three sites in the town of Grantham.

We offer provision from entry level to higher education in a broad range of subject areas. We are recognised as a ‘Good’ quality provider by Ofsted and our student accommodation was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. We are also financially strong and recognised as having ‘Good’ financial health by the DfE.

The College was established in 1948 and had 48 students on predominately engineering provision. Now, 77 years later, we support closer to 3000 people each year to improve their skills. Engineering provision is still important to us and the local economy and our apprenticeship provision is a key part of what we do. Our vocational provision meets local and national skills needs, those identified by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Skills Improvement Plan and those sectors identified in the recent Industrial Strategy.

Grantham College has developed its Higher Education facilities and breadth of provision in recent years opening a University Centre in Elsham House in 2019 and the Institute of Technology in 2022 in Stonebridge House. The College is proud to protect these historic assets by bringing them into use to support the next generation to acquire the higher level skills needed by the local economy. Our aim is to offer a high quality, value for money and accessible academic option to develop and retain the higher level skills that the local area needs.

The College is a franchise partner of Lincoln Bishop University and delivers university level courses.

The College also works with the University of Lincoln and other local colleges as part of the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology.

Grantham College & University Centre is based in central Grantham on Stonebridge Road, NG31 9AP.
From A1 (NORTH): Take the B1174 exit towards Grantham/Gt.Gonerby/Downtown/Allington/Foston. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Great N Rd/B1174. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit and stay on Great N Rd/B1174. Turn left onto Broad St/A607. Turn right onto Brook St/A607. Turn left onto Watergate/B1174. Turn left onto St Peter’s Hill. Continue onto Avenue Rd. Continue onto Stonebridge Rd. Grantham College will be situated on the left hand side of road.

From A1 (SOUTH): Follow A1 to B1174 in Lincolnshire. Take the B1174 exit from A1. Continue onto B1174. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on B1174. Turn right onto Bridge End Rd/A52. Turn left onto Harrowby Rd. Turn right onto Sandon Rd. Turn left onto Stonebridge Rd. Grantham College will be on the right hand side of road.

From A52 (Nottingham/Derby): Follow A52 to Barrowby Rd/A607 in Grantham. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Barrowby Rd/A607. Turn right onto Brook St/A607. Turn left onto Watergate/B1174. Turn left onto St Peter’s Hill. Continue onto Avenue Rd. Continue onto Stonebridge Rd. Grantham College will be on left hand side of road.

From A607 (Leicester/Melton): Continue on A607. At roundabout take 1st exit to Harlaxton Road. Follow Harlaxton Rd/A607 and A52 to St Catherine’s Rd. Continue on St Catherine’s Rd to Stonebridge Rd. Turn left on to Stonebridge Road Grantham College will be on right hand side of road.

Public Transport

By Rail: Grantham has its own train station, which is great for commuting from Nottingham, and you can be in Grantham in 30 minutes. You’ll also be able to reach us from Lincoln in around an hour and Leicester in an hour and a half. You can also reach Grantham from London Kings Cross station in just over an hour, making it a highly commutable destination. It is a 15 minute walk from the train station to Grantham College and 5 minutes in a taxi.

By Bus: Grantham train station is a 10 minute walk from the Grantham College campus with many accessible routes from Lincoln, Melton Newark, Nottingham, London etc.

Cycling: We actively encourage our students and staff to choose a green method of transport when travelling to college. We have cycle racks available.

Car Parking

Visitors can park on our secure, barriered car park. Disabled parking is available for blue badge holders. All visitors must report to reception and register their Number Plate.
