Grantham College & University aim to assist all our students in gaining the employability skills needed to land their dream job! You might not know yet what you want to do right now, but through college you can explore your options and we are on hand to support you every step of the way.

All our programmes focus on getting you work-ready, in your approach, mind-set and skills base to meet the expectations of employers. Apprenticeships

Getting paid while you learn might sound too good to be true – but as an apprentice with Grantham College you really do get the best of both worlds. While you are studying towards your qualifications, you will be able to gain valuable work experience, and develop real life work skills, whilst getting paid at least the minimum wage rate for an apprentice.

Our Apprenticeship team are on hand to help you find the right apprenticeship for you, and support you throughout the application process.

Industry Placements, Traineeships & Work Experience

Every student aged 16-18 at enrolment will attend a short period of work experience  – this is a great opportunity to find out about different industries, to explore a range of job roles and to gain workplace skills! Your work experience will usually be arranged with a local employer and so will, as far as possible, be within easy travelling distance from your home address. Work experience cannot be paid, but it is nevertheless a real investment in your future.

We work with many local, regional and national employers that support our students with gaining practical, hands-on knowledge. Those on study programmes such as T-Levels will have industry placements built in to their programme. Traineeships offer students with an education, health and care (EHC) plan to get ready for an apprenticeship or job if they don’t have the necessary skills or experience.
