NCFE Certificate Data Protection and Data Security (Level 2)

Overview

This qualification is designed for learners who wish to improve their knowledge of data protection and data security.

The qualification is delivered using our online portal. You will need access to a computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone to complete it.

Am I Ready?

There are no formal entry requirements however learners should be aged 19 or above at the start of the academic year to undertake this qualification.  Learners must be able to read and understand the learning resources and complete the written work with moderate assistance and will therefore benefit from having a reasonable understanding of reading and writing the English language. Course Details

YOU CAN START THIS COURSE AT ANY TIME THROUGHOUT THE ACADEMIC YEAR BUT THERE IS AN EXPECTATION THAT YOU WILL COMPLETE WITHIN TWELVE WEEKS.  FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE WILL INCUR A £50 ADMINISTRATION CHARGE.

The objectives of this qualification are to enable learners to two units including the following topics.


• understand current data legislation


• understand steps organisations might take to help protect data


• understand how to protect their own data


• understand how to protect ICT systems from common threats


• understand the consequences of not protecting data and systems.

Assessment

The course consists of 4 units, and each unit is completed in a 3-week period. Learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes of the units through completion of these tutor marked assessments.

Fees & Funding

Low Income / Unemployed Seeking Work

Students that are unemployed and currently seeking work, or on a low income of up to £20,319 per annum may be able to enrol to a course at Level 2 or below free of charge. This is a government initiative and the course offer is subject to change. Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government. This does not affect your rights under Consumer Law.

Your Next Steps

Once you have completed your distance-learning course you will receive a certificate of completion. You will also have the option of enrolling onto another course if you wish to continue learning new skills.
