As a photography lecturer at Grantham College, Fraser finds great fulfillment in guiding students on their own creative journeys. He values the diverse personalities in his classes and enjoys passing on both technical expertise and industry experience. “For me, the most important thing is that students are better equipped with the necessary skills—both soft and technical—and the emotional resilience to achieve whatever personal and professional goal they choose.”

Career Highlights

Fraser’s work has taken him around the world, leading to extraordinary projects and experiences:

  • Ukrainian Refugee Portrait Project – An ongoing series where he sometimes travels to Ukraine. “There have been highs and lows—like being accused of being a Russian spy while on a train near the Russian border!”
  • Arts Council-Funded Documentary in Brazil – A film exploring Afro-Brazilian religious rituals, where he was granted rare access to ceremonies not usually open to outsiders. “Filming people falling into trances as they were possessed by their gods was an unforgettable experience.”
  • Unexpected Encounters – His work has placed him in unpredictable situations, from border interrogations to witnessing cultural moments that few outsiders get to see.

Rather than changing his perspective, photography has reinforced Fraser’s natural curiosity about people and the world. “I love photography because, as an extrovert, my camera is the vehicle that allows me to go out, meet new people, and listen to their stories.”
