Engineering Lecturer – Part Time

Salary: This is a Part time role with a FTE salary of up to £42,598 per annum dependant on skills and experience.
Working Hours: Willing to consider working patterns to suit the successful candidate. The college full time hours are:33 hours per week over 4 days, working one in four Friday mornings, 52 weeks per year.
Expected Start date: August 2026
An exciting opportunity has arisen due to an expansion within our Engineering provision for additional Engineering Lecturers to join our Engineering department.
The purpose of the role is to demonstrate a high quality of professional practice and provide quality teaching and learning at a variety of levels. To devise action plans and maintain appropriate records
The successful applicant must have:
- Engineering Trade Qualifications
- HND/Degree or equivalent
- Engineering Industry experience
- Teaching qualification – PTLLS, DTLLS or equivalent or willing to work towards
- Motivation to work towards team targets
- Ability to work under pressure
- Enthusiastic and motivated
- Desire for learners to achieve full potential
- Able to effectively manage a cohort of learners and complete in a timely manner, while meeting IQA/EQA standards
The roles main duties include:
- To teach, using an appropriate mix of traditional, e-learning and blended learning approaches, on a range of Engineering courses from Level 1 to 5.
- To provide support and guidance to students.
- To operate as an effective member of relevant course teams and to work closely with other areas.
- To carry out administrative duties associated with teaching, including maintenance of registers, schemes of work, assessments, reports, course records and course evaluations to a satisfactory standard and within established deadlines.
- To ensure safe working practices are observed by yourself and others (including students) for whom you are responsible.
- To provide such returns or reports as may from time to time as required by the Curriculum Manager or College Senior Leadership Team.
- To assist in the recruitment of students, including interviewing and enrolments.
- To assist in the marketing of the College provision through attendance at Careers Conventions, Open Days and other promotional events.
- To assist in the development of curriculum support materials.
- To assist with programmes of work experience and/or industrial and commercial liaison, including the organisation and monitoring of work experience placements.

- To ensure the principles of equality and diversity are upheld.
This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Regulated activity includes teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children if the person is unsupervised.

Grantham College operate a 4-day working week. Staff benefit from working a full-time contract over four days. You will work core hours of Monday to Thursday, working a Friday morning once a month
