Salary: This is a part time role with an actual salary of up to £11,863.09 per annum, and a full-time equivalent salary of up to £40,152 per annum dependent on skills and experience.

Working Hours: 9.75 hours per week Wednesday and Thursday, 52 weeks per year.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Counselling Lecturer to join our Health and Social Care department.

The purpose of the role is to demonstrate a high quality of professional practice and provide quality teaching and learning at a variety of levels. Devise action plans and maintain appropriate records.

The successful applicant must have:

• Degree or equivalent in Counselling
• Professional qualification in Counselling minimum of Level 5 or equivalent.
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
• BACP Registered
• The ability to work as a member of a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to motivate students
• Excellent administration skills
• Good IT skills
• The ability to multi-task
• The ability to work well under pressure
• Recent industry experience

The roles main duties include:

• Teaching and assessing, using an appropriate mix of traditional, e-learning and blended learning approaches, on a range of courses within both the Counselling curriculum area and across areas.
• Taking responsibility for specific areas of work including course files within the curriculum area.
• Providing support and guidance to students in class and in the form of tutorials.
• Operating as an effective member of relevant course teams and to work closely with other areas.
• Carrying out administrative duties associated with teaching, including maintenance of registers, schemes of work, assessments, reports, course records and course evaluations to a satisfactory standard and within established deadlines.
• Internal verification of work.
• Ensuring safe working practices are observed by yourself and others (including students) for whom you are responsible.
• Providing such returns or reports as may from time to time be required by the Curriculum Leader or College.
• Assisting in the recruitment of students, including interviewing and enrolments.
• Assisting in the development of curriculum support materials.
• Assisting with programmes of work experience and/or industrial and commercial liaison, including the organisation and monitoring of work experience placements.
• Attending weekend workshops periodically throughout the course.
• Working with the College and its procedures.
• Ensuring the principles of equality and diversity are upheld

This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Regulated activity includes teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children if the person is unsupervised.

Grantham College operate a 4-day working week. Staff benefit from working a full-time contract over four days. You will work core hours of Monday to Thursday, working a Friday morning once a month
