The Grantham College Strive Team are gearing up for another year of racing. The team receive no funding and so sponsorship is vital for them to continue to compete. Lily, Sponsorship and Marketing Manager. “We welcome partners who want to champion STEM education and youth achievement. Our goal is to build not just a high-performance racing team, but a programme that genuinely inspires young people to see themselves as future engineers, designers, and innovators.”
With this in mind BGB have stepped in and agreed to sponsor them. BGB were inspired to sponsor the team as “when we saw the passion behind The Strive STEM Racing Team, we knew we had to be part of it. At BGB, innovation isn’t just what we do—it’s who we are. This challenge reflects everything we value: teamwork, problem-solving, and pushing boundaries. It’s about inspiring the next generation of engineers and proving their ideas can drive the future.”

Neil Tobin, team coordinator, said “with every season, our students take bigger creative risks, develop stronger engineering solutions, and demonstrate the impact of hands-on STEM learning. Strive STEM Racing does more than race cars—our students learn leadership, collaboration, and real-world engineering skills.” This appealed to BGB as “hands-on projects like this are game-changers. They teach students to think critically, design creatively, and apply real-world skills. For BGB, this is an investment in tomorrow’s innovators. This racing challenge stood out because it combines precision engineering, sustainability, and collaboration—all things we champion every day.”
While the team do have some snazzy new graphics, that’s not what BGB are focused on. “This isn’t just a logo on a car—it’s a chance to make a real impact. It’s bold, hands-on, and sparks curiosity and passion. We want students to feel unstoppable, gain confidence, and see that companies like BGB believe in their potential.” While we are hoping for that pole position for Strive this year BGB says that it’s not just winning that counts. “Events like this don’t just create winners—they create engineers, technologists, and problem-solvers. They teach resilience, teamwork, and innovation while igniting a love for STEM. These experiences prepare students for the challenges of modern industry—and the exciting possibilities ahead.”
