National Apprenticeship Week 2025 – #EmployerTuesday

We are kicking off day 2 of National Apprenticeship Week by celebrating the amazing employers who inspire our students and provide life-changing opportunities!

Tuesday 11 February

St George’s Academy, Sleaford

We’re at St George’s Academy, Sleaford today for the Apprenticeship and Recruitment event.

The event is aimed at Year 11, 12 and 13 students who are actively looking for an apprenticeship. Students attending will be from St George’s Academy, Carre’s Grammar School and Kesteven & Sleaford High School.

Employers we have worked with.

We want to say THANK YOU to all the new employers who have welcomed apprentices this year with us. We sincerely thank all our employers who are supporting apprentices, helping them embark on their career journeys.

If you’re an employer looking to hire an apprentice, contact us by emailing apprenticeships@grantham.ac.uk.

Why hire an apprentice?

Apprenticeships are a cost effective way of training new and existing employees with the skills they need to excel in your company. With such a variety of programmes, Apprenticeships are becoming an increasingly popular form of training for businesses.

Employer Testimonials

It’s Employer Tuesday during National Apprenticeship Week, so let’s hear what some of our employers have to say about the apprenticeships at Grantham College.

“If you are looking to provide great opportunities for people starting their career, I would highly recommend Grantham College and their Apprenticeship programme.

“The College made everything from finding candidates suitable for interview to onboarding onto the course easy and seamless.

“The College has provided lots of support to our Finance Apprentice to help them flourish both academically and in the workplace, whilst keeping in touch with frequent and regular updates and check-ins.”

A big thank you to Richard Taylor from Autocraft Solutions Group Limited for his endorsement.

As we continue to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2025, here’s what one of our partner employers said about the apprenticeship programs at Grantham College.

“Apprenticeships have become an integral part of developing our staff at SKDC, enabling employees to gain new skills and enhance their roles, as well as providing opportunities for apprentices to begin working with us to start their careers and develop transferable skills over their employment.

“Grantham College has provided a number of apprenticeships for SKDC over the last 10 years. We have had apprentices doing joinery and plumbing from our repairs team and office-based staff doing courses including IT, business administration, customer service, ILM and HR. To do these qualifications locally has been a massive help, as we have been able to give our apprentices the opportunity to receive face-to-face learning to support the learning they are doing in the workplace.

“The College has been receptive, supportive, and communicative with both us and our apprentices.”

We extend our gratitude to Jack Perry from South Kesteven District Council for his commendation.

We absolutely LOVE receiving feedback from our employers regarding the apprenticeship programs at Grantham College.

Majestic Joinery Ltd are proud to work and engage with Grantham College as the training provider for our Apprenticeship Programmes, and we passionately support apprenticeships. They are significantly important to us as a SME in the Joinery trade, offering a raft of benefits while also being vital for driving a future skilled trades workforce within the wider UK construction industry. They help to create a stronger foundation for our organisation by allowing us to attract young people at the very beginning of their work journey. We can nurture and cultivate capabilities, equipping individuals from day one with the skill set relevant to our specific business needs, alongside supporting them to learn, grow and achieve their own personal goals through on-the-job experience in a safe working environment. The apprentices we employ are always a welcome boost to our team and very much enhance the long-term success of our business!

A big thank you to Majestic Joinery for your wonderful feedback.

During National Apprenticeship Week 2025, we celebrate our apprentices’ inspiring journeys and the employers who support them.

Hear from our apprentice Linzi and her employer Daniel at Hope Community Cafe in Grantham as they share their experiences with Grantham College.

“I’m really grateful for this opportunity. I’m absolutely loving doing my apprenticeship.” – Linzi

“Linzi is working really hard and we’re really pleased, pleased with the college and pleased with the whole thing. It’s really good. So thank you.” – Daniel
