Media Students Bring Newton 300 Story to Life

Grantham College students, staff and alumni collaborate on a special film celebrating Newton 300.

Our Media students, staff, and alumni are currently hard at work producing a special film as part of Newton 300, the town-wide celebration marking 300 years since the death of Sir Isaac Newton in 1727.

The project brings together students from our Higher Education, Further Education, and Alumni communities, giving them the opportunity to collaborate on a unique local heritage production and showcase their creative talents. We’re also delighted to announce that Sophie Aldred, best known for playing Ace in Doctor Who, is part of the cast, making this an even more exciting opportunity for everyone involved.

The finished film will be screened in March, as part of the wider Newton 300 celebrations taking place across Grantham and Lincolnshire throughout 2027.

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates as filming continues!

This project has been funded through the Arts & Culture Grantham Town Council Fund.
