There were plenty of smiles and celebrations at Grantham College & University Centre this morning as students collected their GCSE results and reflected on the hard work that led to their success.

Staff were on hand to congratulate learners on their achievements in English and maths, while also helping them look ahead to the exciting opportunities awaiting them.
Among those celebrating was Kyler, who described herself as “really happy” with her results. She achieved a Distinction in Graphic Design, a Grade 6 in English and a Grade 5 in maths. Her success means she can now progress to the next level of Graphic Design at Grantham College & University Centre.

Asad was also delighted with his achievements after “working hard” to secure a Grade 4 in maths. His result will enable him to put his newly developed skills into practice when he begins his Plumbing course at the College in just a few weeks’ time.

Part-time learner Andrea had even more reason to celebrate after achieving a Grade 4 in GCSE Maths, despite not having studied since 1982. Andrea, who works as a teaching assistant at a local school, needed the qualification to support her role. Her daughter, who recently sat her own GCSE examinations, said she was incredibly proud of her mum for balancing her studies alongside work and family commitments.

The achievements of learners such as Kyler, Asad and Andrea demonstrate that hard work and determination can lead to success at any stage of life.
If you’re feeling inspired by this year’s GCSE results, there’s still time to secure your place with us for September and follow in their footsteps.
