This year’s Student Awards Ceremony took place in the Sports Hall at Grantham College on Thursday 2 July 2026. It is always a special event where we come together to celebrate the achievements of our students, staff, and employer partners.
The evening was full of pride, happiness, and inspiration as we looked back on another successful year at the college.
Students were recognised for their hard work, dedication, and contribution to college life. More than 80 individual awards were presented to students who have been recognised for the effort and determination shown throughout the year. Family, friends, and staff joined together to celebrate the many success stories that have made this year so memorable.
Students from across the college were recognised, including vocational students, apprentices, Higher Education students and adult learners. Awards were presented across a wide range of subject areas, including Health & Social Care, Engineering, Media, Sport, Public Services, Travel & Tourism, Photography, Art & Design, Construction, Business, and many more, reflecting the diverse talent and achievements found throughout the college community.

Kayleigh Sherwin, nominated by students, was recognised for always going above and beyond to support learners. Students described her as patient, helpful, and always willing to explain things until they felt confident.
Katie Smith, nominated by staff, was recognised for her excellent knowledge of the college, its students, and staff. Her strong communication skills and positive attitude make her a valued member of the team.
Lynsey Coy, recognised for her teaching and commitment to the students and the impact she has made within the college community by winning The Andrew Wright Teaching & Assessing Award.
Tiger Lilli was recognised for the fantastic support it provides to our Beauty students. Over the years, the business has welcomed many students on work experience placements and given them valuable insight into the workplace. Their commitment to helping young people has had a positive impact on our students’ confidence and career goals.

BGB Innovation was recognised for the excellent support it gives to its staff, apprentices, and students. The company creates a positive environment where people can learn and develop. We have worked closely with BGB Innovation for many years and are proud of the strong partnership we have built together.

The most prestigious award of the evening, Overall Student of the Year, was presented to Science student Eleanor Reeves.
Eleanor has been an exceptional student throughout her two years at Grantham College. She has achieved 100% attendance, is on track to achieve the highest possible BTEC grade of D*D*D*, and has secured a place at the University of Leicester to study Biological Sciences.
As well as excelling in her studies, Eleanor has supported other students and secured two competitive NHS placements at Grantham Hospital. Her hard work, dedication, and positive attitude have made her a role model within the Science department.

Following the ceremony, guests were welcomed to the Refectory for refreshments and drinks. While enjoying the celebrations, guests also had the opportunity to view some of the exceptional work created by our Art & Design students, recently showcased as part of their End of Year Exhibition.
Thank you to our sponsors who made the evening possible – National Grid and Vaculug.
Congratulations to all our award winners and nominees. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and wish you every success for the future.
