Access to HE (Humanities & Social Sciences)
This course could be the fast-track route to the profession you have always wanted!
The Access to Higher Education Diploma in Humanities and Social Science is a Level 3 qualification which will prepare you for studying at university. This qualification will give you the relevant academic subject knowledge needed for higher education study as well as a range of study skills that will effectively prepare you for higher education.
Former students have gone on to study Primary Education, Social Work, Journalism, Criminology, Law, Psychology, Sociology, Fashion & Marketing and Business.
Sophie decided to work after leaving school without the necessary qualifications to go to university. She has now decided to widen her career options by pursuing her interest in English language and linguistics.

As it turns out the Access course has been a great success in the Magilton family. Previously Sophie’s sister Lauren studied on the Access course in 2011 and got a place at Cambridge University to study English Literature and has subsequently gained a degree from Cambridge and MA from Oxford. Sophie’s mum saw how successful Lauren had been from studying the Access course and decided to enrol on the Access (Healthcare) course in 2016 and is studying Speech and Language at Sheffield University.
Emily completed the Access to HE (Humanities and Social Science) Diploma course in 2017. She went on to study Theology at the University of Manchester, and recently finished her Masters degree. She won prizes for the best in MA Theology at the University of Manchester and best Jewish Master’s dissertation at the University of Manchester.
