Learners will be taught the essentials of all digital roles by understanding data and digital systems, how software and business interact, security, testing, planning and legal issues. This will be built upon by developing specialist skills as a data technician to understand how to source, analyse and interpret data to support business needs. This is an occupation found in all sectors where data is generated or processed including finance, retail, education, health, media, manufacturing and hospitality. The data technician is employed to source, format and present data securely in a relevant way for analysis and to communicate outcomes appropriate to the audience.
5 GCSE qualifications at Grade 4 and above including maths and English, this may include a vocational Ext Cert or Diploma award at Level 2 with a merit grade.
There are 2 main forms of assessment, two examinations and an employer set project. Examination paper A has 3 sections – section A covers culture & context, section B covers diversity, inclusion and digital environments, section c covers learning and planning. Examination B has 3 sections – section a covers tools and testing, section B covers legislation and security, section C covers digital analysis and data. The final assessment is the employer set project which will be set externally in conjunction with the employers.

Full Time Further Education courses are free to school leavers and those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course. Exam resit fees may apply as applicable.

On successful completion of the Level 3 T-Level Technician there is the opportunity to progress to higher education or employment within a variety of sectors as listed above as well as the computing sector.
