If you wish to work in the Photography industry this is the course for you, with this attractive alternative to A Levels.
You will build critical and contextual awareness throughout the course, developing your own portfolio of work that will include a series of live project briefs.
There are two mac suites available that have the latest Adobe Creative Suite software allowing you to develop technical skills. Access to latest photography equipment including a darkroom and light studio.
5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or a Level 2 Diploma Art and Design (merit).
Through the course you will become more aware of using transferable skills. You will become more independent and work within time constraints managing your own time. You will be a good reflective learner that is able to initiate independent learning and creative thinking, solving problems throughout. You will have the opportunity to take part in life drawing classes.

Within the course you will work to develop professional skills and communication, you will be required to gain knowledge of a range of Photographic practices and explore and use materials, methods, techniques and processes in a safe and professional manner.
Practical and written assessments internally/ externally assessed.
This evidence can then be used when applying for university or jobs interviews to assist you to showcase your talent and capability.
Full Time Further Education courses are free to school leavers and those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course. Exam resit fees may apply as applicable.
Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government.
Advanced Learning Loan to help with college fees on applicable course. Students won’t have to pay anything back until the end of their course and are earning £27,295 per year. Household income isn’t taken into account and there’s no credit check. Eligibility is dependent on course, nationality, and age to meet the ESFA funding eligibility criteria.

Whilst on the L3 National Diploma Photography or the L3 National Extended Diploma Photography course students will be able to work on Live project briefs for clients, take part in workshops with guest lecturers and complete thirty hours creative work experience.
There is also a Photography kit to purchase for each student including a DSLR camara of their own, that will also include 1 trip payment. This can be purchased using a bursary which you can apply for at the start of the academic year. You will also be expected to provide various materials for final projects when using a lot of the material to help with successful completion of coursework/ projects.
Learners will be able to progress onto HE courses which may include Level 4 HNC or Level 5 HND Photography or progress onto University courses in the creative industries or enter employment as a Portrait, Fashion, Sport or Wildlife Photographer, Pet, Family, Commercial Photographer.
