NCFE Certificate Photography (Level 2)

Overview

This qualification is aimed at those individuals wishing to develop an understanding of photographic processes and the photo imaging industry. The qualification will also allow learners to understand how to manipulate images and explore in detail one of the following areas of photography:

• dark room

• studio

• location

• commercial

• documentary

• experimental and alternative processes.

The objectives of this qualification are to support learners to progress into many arears of Photography including Higher Education.

Am I Ready?

No specific entry requirements. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 1 photography qualification.

Course Details

During the course you will complete two mandatory units & one optional unit.

Explore photographic equipment, techniques, materials and resources
Develop and adapt photographic ideas
Use a camera to capture creative images
Digital image manipulation

Assessment

Internally assessed and externally moderated portfolio of evidence.

Fees & Funding

Low Income / Unemployed Seeking Work

Students that are unemployed and currently seeking work, or on a low income of up to £25,750 per annum may be able to enrol to a course at Level 2 or below free of charge. This is a government initiative and the course offer is subject to change. Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government. This does not affect your rights under Consumer Law.

Additional Information

If you have your own DSLR or Film camera please bring it along with you.

You will need to purchase a sketchbook.

There may be times where a change in timetable happens to allow for location photography – a further 24hours is required.
