NCFE Award in Graphic Design Branding & Visual Communication (Level 1)

The course aims to establish and develop fundamental knowledge of Graphic Design principles and their application in visual communication and visual storytelling designs, with a focus on branding and brand identities across a range of applications. Learners will gain experience with visual communication methods and their applications, which are commonly used in the design industry. This course is ideal for sole traders, small business owners, charity groups and entrepreneurs who wish to learn to design and apply their own branding. Across both digital and print media, the course content will enable individuals to become proficient in Graphic Design principles and techniques. Additionally, this course is perfect for anyone with an interest in design, creativity and idea generation.

No specific entry requirements

• Logo design, visual identity, branding, and visual communication.
• Web Design, UX/UI Design, interactive design and responsive design.
• Motion Graphics, Animation, a time-based medium design.
• 3D visualisation.

This course is the perfect introduction to beginning the journey of becoming a multidisciplinary, cross-disciplinary creative who can create and utilise their own visual creations across a range of media. Learners will gain fundamental knowledge to enable them to progress to the HNC Level 4 Graphic Design Higher Education course if they desire to.

The emphasis of the course is on establishing and applying visual storytelling methods to create effective design and creative outcomes.

Learners working and earning below £26,800 gross per annum, or unemployed, seeking work and in receipt of a means tested benefit may be eligible for the fee remission. Students must be able to provide 3 months evidence of income that matches the above criteria upon request to be considered eligible.

Based in the Arts Centre Graphic Design department at Grantham College, learners will have access to industry standard equipment, software and exposure to the relevant skills and techniques to success creativity across print and digital design.

A Wacom tablet would be helpful for learners to have.
