This level builds upon your introductory knowledge and experience, allowing you to further develop your skills and pursue a career in the construction industry as a plumber.
GCSE Grade 3 or above in Maths
Minimum of 3 Grade 3(inc. maths) or above full qualifications or a Level 1 diploma in another construction trade.
You'll learn in the classroom and in the workshop, using suitable tools and materials and cover units, fundamental safe working practices, site preparation, for working in the construction industry, above ground drainage, copper pipework, plastic pressure work, low carbon steel pipework, installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems, plumbing science, structure of the construction industry, environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings.
Written tasks and practical tasks are carried out to gain achievement of this qualification.
Full Time Further Education courses are free to school leavers and those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course. Exam resit fees may apply as applicable.

Students that are unemployed and currently seeking work, or on a low income of up to £25,750 per annum may be able to enrol to a course at Level 2 or below free of charge. In order to be able to study on this course you will need to purchase a kit which includes the essential range of equipment for you to start the course. A construction site uniform is also available to order and is mandatory. Both kit and uniform should be ordered in advance of starting the course. You will also need to wear steel toe capped boots when entering all areas within the construction site
