Dog Grooming Lecturer/Assessor – Part- time (Fixed term until: December 2023)

Salary: £5149.05, per annum dependent on skills and experience

Working Hours: 7.5 hours per week, Part-Time, 52 weeks per year.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dog Grooming Lecturer/ Assessor to join our Animal Care department.

The purpose of the role is to provide quality teaching and learning of dog grooming at a variety of levels.

The successful applicant must have:

  • Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification or above
  • Knowledge and experience within the sector
  • Certificate in education or equivalent
  • Assessor/ Verifier qualifications

This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Regulated activity includes teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children if the person is unsupervised.

The roles main duties include:

  • To teach dog grooming, using an appropriate mix of traditional, e-learning and blended learning approaches and support cross college initiatives
  • To take responsibility for specific areas of work within the curriculum area including supervision of the animal centre if dogs are present.
  • To carry out administrative duties associated with teaching, including maintenance of registers, schemes of work, assessments, reports, course records and course evaluations to a satisfactory standard and within established deadlines.
