Daybreak Care Support Assistant – Bank

Salary: This is a Bank role with an hourly paid rate of £11.72 per hour plus holiday pay.
Working Hours: Zero hour contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bank Daybreak Care Support assistant to join our Daybreak department.

The purpose of the role is to provide support/personal care to young adults with physical and/or learning needs within small groups or individually

The successful applicant must have:
• An awareness of disabilities
• The ability to be flexible with regard to clients supported
• Excellent interpersonal/ communicational Skills
• The ability to work well within the team
• Level 2 Literacy/ Numeracy Skills
• Care Qualification- Minimum NVQ Care level 2 or equivalent (or working towards)
• Experience working with young people/adults in educational, youth work, care provision or similar.
The roles main duties include:

• Carrying out the duties of a CSA, supporting clients on individual/small group programmes agreed with the Daybreak Manager
• Supporting clients with physical/learning difficulties
• Assisting client with additional needs to have full access to the LLDD facilities such as sensory room, adapted kitchen, activity rooms etc
• Assisting the Manager with routine administrative tasks
• Assisting with preparation of support documentation and materials
• Attending team meetings
• Carrying out personal care as required for support clients.

This role requires you to engage in regulatory activity in the FE sector. The full definition of regulatory activity is set out in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Regulated activity includes teaching, instructing, caring for or supervising children if the person is unsupervised.

Grantham College operate a 4-day working week. Staff benefit from a reduction in working hours with full pay. You will work core hours (based on a full-time equivalent contract) of Monday to Thursday, working a Friday morning once a month.
