Sir Isaac Newton's birthplace used for celebratory event

The House of Light celebrates science and visual imagery

Students from Grantham College participated in a Christmas event with a difference last week at Woolsthorpe Manor. The House of Light was a celebration of science and visual imagery that was staged at the birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton. Photography students created a range of final pieces that are displayed throughout the manor whilst Performing Arts students entertained the visitors with choreographed light routines. These routines were recorded using long exposure photography revealing text and patterns. Art & Design tutor, Anne-Marie Kerr said the event was a fantastic success “This was a great opportunity for our students to work with the National Trust and it also gave them a taste of what it is like to work in the creative industries.”

An exhibition of work produced by Art and Design students and films created by Media students from the college will be on display at the manor until February 2018. Details of courses mentioned and of the new HND in Photography course can be found here.
