End of year show showcased student's final designs
The mayor of Grantham, Adam Stokes, was a special guest as the public was invited to Grantham College’s Art and Design end of year show.
The exhibition, which was the chance for students to showcase their creations throughout the year, was held at St Wulfram’s Church.
Wendy Turner, Art and Design tutor at Grantham College, said the main goal of the show was to help students “develop their personal presentation techniques.”
She added: “The guests have praised the students’ work, saying that some of the artwork was deep and there is such a diverse range of specialist techniques used.”
Jamie Kemp, who studies Level 3 Art and Design, created a piece to celebrate old-school black and white films.
He said: “At the end of your course you want to go big, and this show is the culmination of all your hard work.”
Jamie added that he had been preparing for the show for the last 12 weeks.
The external examiner from BTEC believed the chance for the students to have their work showcased in the setting of the church was “fantastic.”
Wendy wanted to thank the church for hosting the college’s show. She said: “A big thank you goes to Father Stewart for letting the college use the church for the Art and Design exhibition.”
