Learning Development students flourish during work placement

Learning Development students on the Supported Internship programme have flourished during their work placement. "All students taking part in work placements hit the ground running," commented Work Placement Co-ordinator, Stuart McLean. Three students are doing their work placement at Asda, Grantham, where they are embedding customer service skills, communication skills, and support both staff & customers on the shop floor for two days a week.

Putting classroom based work into a practical setting has helped students in their placements and has encouraged them to apply what they've learnt in the classroom to a work environment.

Asda's Community Champion, Karen Morrell comments: "the students have worked really hard over the last few weeks and I've noticed such an improvement in their confidence and work skills."
