Grantham College raises over £100 for Jeans for Genes Day
Jeans for Genes Day was a great success at Grantham College this year.
Held on Friday 21st September, staff and students enjoyed a dressed down day of wearing jeans and donating money to help a great cause. The Marketing team also set up a cake sale in reception featuring some lovely blue bakes.
On offer was a chocolate cake, blue vanilla cupcakes, cookie monster cupcakes and a gluten free lemon and blueberry drizzle cake; it’s safe to say that these didn’t last long at all and by 11.30am all the bakes were gone.
Staff were also on hand to buy Jeans for Genes day badges, which proved to be very popular especially the skinny jeans version.
A blue photography contest was held for both staff and students with Sarie-Marais from reception judging the winner and runner up. Winner of the £10 Love2Shop was the Marketing Manager Jasmine Abeysekera, whilst runner up winning a £5 Love2Shop was Graphic Designer Chelsea Toulson.
To end the day; a Generation Gene event was held with the help of Lynsey Coy where staff and students went head to in Table Tennis and Tennis. The Trans X Plus students had a great time during the lunch event.
From our Jeans for Genes Day activities; Grantham College successfully raised over £100 for the charity and a great day was had by all.
