Hearing impaired Grantham College student, Benjamin Leonard gains work experience in Valencia as part of the Erasmus scheme

Benjamin Leonard is a hearing impaired, Hospitality & Catering student who recently went to Valencia as part of the Erasmus scheme.

Benjamin was accompanied by his translator Tracey East and other Hospitality & Catering students.  This was also his first trip abroad.

He was able to gain real life experience working alongside talented chefs at a hotel in Valencia and also had an opportunity to discover the local culture.

“The trip was a lifetime experience! It opened me up to so many opportunities where I was able to learn new skills, gain knowledge and helped me build my character. In the future I hope to open my own restaurant for the deaf community” said Benjamin.
