New facilities for students of Grantham College
Wednesday 26 September saw staff and governors of Grantham College and members of the public unveil the new University Centre. Chair of Governors, Mos Kalbassi cut the ribbon to declare the building as open and ready to use.
The bespoke University Centre is located in the College’s historic Elsham House building and has seen a large transformation, designed to serve the needs of the College’s HE university level students and further enhance the student experience.
It boasts state of the art facilities including a mac suite, a media studio with a fully equipped control room, computer facilities, classrooms and a large common area dedicated to Higher Education students. The space is fully secure meaning only staff and the higher-level students can access and use the facilities.
Higher Education subjects currently offered at Grantham College include Biology, Media, Engineering, Art & Design, Health & Social Care, Computing, Performing Arts, Business, Sport, and Professional Studies. The College offers a range of HE course levels, including Foundation Degrees, HNC (Level 4) and HND (Level 5), Higher Level Degree Apprenticeships and degree level qualifications in partnership with Bishop Grosseteste University.
Grantham College’s Higher Education provision recently received a silver Teaching Excellence and Framework (TEF) award. TEF measures the things students care about; students invest significant amounts of time and money in Higher Education and expect a high-quality academic experience. The TEF judging panel considers evidence including continuation rates, student satisfaction, employment data, and further study outcomes.
