Grantham College students build their way to the top

Great results at the SkillBuild competition

On Tuesday 27th June, Grantham College Brickwork department took two students to the regional heat of the SkillBuild competition at Leicester College.

Luke Craven competed in the senior competition and was up against some tough competition finishing a very respectable 4th place. Charlie Kidd was the college's competitor in the junior competition and was up against 11 other competitors coming from West Notts College, Leicester College, South Burton and Derbyshire College, Moulton College and Shrewsbury College. Charlie performed fantastically well and managed to win first prize in the heat. This is a superb result due to the size of some of the other colleges; some of these colleges have four times the amount of apprentices and diplomas that Grantham College have. Charlie is a full time diploma student and competed against 11 other apprentices which makes the result even better.

Well done to all involved and for taking part!
