Pudsey Ears at the ready - Grantham College raises a grand total for Children in Need!
Last week as a College, we pledged to raise money for Children in Need throughout their appeal week. From the 12th-16thNovember, we put on our Pudsey ears and grabbed our donation boxes to raise money for the charity.
The Refectory made Pudsey biscuits throughout the week and sold them to staff and students. R&R Salons donated a percentage of the week’s treatment takings to the charity as well as hosting the annual duck-race (congratulations to whoever had James Pond down for the winner) and holding a Tombola.
On Wednesday, the Marketing team hosted The Great Grantham Bake Off with Graphic Designer, Chelsea Toulson as the judge. To keep it fair, Chelsea didn’t see any of the bakes until judging time. Marketing Manager, Jaz Abeysekera won 1stPlace with her Pudsey’s Coat Cake – a well-deserved winner. The College also got comfy throughout the week with a PJ day on Wednesday and Friday – LDC showed their PJ’s and Pudsey onesies off on both days whereas our Level 2 Childcare students had a daytime ‘sleepover’ complete with films and popcorn on the Friday.
Our animal care students also got involved with a non-uniform day and Pudsey socks on the Friday. But they aren’t the only ones – the HR Team also wore Pudsey T-Shirts and ears on the Friday.
Advice and Guidance Coordinator, Amy Goswell hosted a baby photo contest at Reception where staff sent in baby photos and had to guess who was who. Well done to Jade Voller who got all but two right! Science also got involved with a guess the number of molly mods game! We also sold some Pudsey ears throughout the week to raise even more money.
A massive thank you to all our staff and students who got involved throughout our appeal week – you help and support for a fantastic charity is greatly appreciated. Collectively, we raised a grand total of £310.05 to donate to Children in Need!
