Grantham College host students from Poland as part of the Erasmus+ Scheme.

We recently hosted 10 students from Poland as part of the Erasmus+ Scheme. During their stay they were able to gain valuable, real life experience in their chosen field and get a taste of the local culture.

The Erasmus+ programme supports education, training, youth and sport in Europe. It offers exciting opportunities for participants of the partaking countries to study, work, volunteer, teach and train abroad in Europe.

As the students study Hospitality and Tourism their placement at the Urban Hotel was an ideal experience for them. They were involved in all areas of running a hotel; from housekeeping to catering and events and hotel management. “I already work in a hospitality environment back in Poland and it was interesting to see how different it was here and to gain new skills that I can take back with me,” says Karoline Wypychowska.

In their free time, they had the opportunity to mix with the locals, adapt to the Grantham lifestyle and do some sightseeing around England. “I wanted to come and explore England so that I could practice English and meet new people. For anyone else thinking about taking part in the Erasmus+ scheme, just go for it!” says Weronika Konieczha.

Grantham College students have also had the opportunity to partake in work experience abroad in the past few years and have visited places such as Sweden, Malta, Valencia and Tenerife to name a few. Currently, our media students are enjoying work placements in Tenerife.

If you also want to be in with a chance of enjoying an all-expenses paid two-week trip abroad, contact Grantham College on 01476 400200 or email enquiry@grantham.ac.uk
