Grantham College awarded more funding to support inactive students

Increased funding goes towards Activ8+ project.

In addition to recently securing £56,398 from Sport England, Grantham College has now been awarded a further thousand pounds from the Tennis Foundation. The money will go towards working with Grantham Tennis Club to deliver sessions as part of the Activ8+ project as well as the general enrichment programme.

The College’s Activity Development Officer, Lynsey Coy will deliver specific disability sessions to the Learning Development students. Higher education sport students will also get the opportunity to complete a Primary School and Inclusive Tennis course to enhance their programme of study.

The overall project aims to get inactive students to move more frequently and to understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Lynsey is overjoyed with the generous funding from both Sport England and the Tennis Foundation and can’t wait to encourage and support the students throughout the year.
