Grantham College are pleased to announce, in partnership with Grantham Town Football Club, that a new Football Development Centre has been agreed and will launch in September 2015.
The Development Centre will be a welcome addition to the Sport curriculum which will see students being taught by staff with a wealth of knowledge who also have great contacts in the footballing world.
‘The introduction of the Football Development Centre will be a welcome addition to the successful Tennis Academy and Sports courses we already run at the college. The department is very excited at the prospect of working with Grantham Town Football Club and the local community to develop new young talent.’ Jane Naylor Curriculum Leader for Sport at Grantham College commented.
Bob Harris, one of the Sports Lectures at Grantham College siad ‘The aims of the centre are 3 fold. To improve each individual as a footballer in terms of their technical and tactical ability, knowledge and understanding as well as offering each student the opportunity to gain an academic sports qualification at van appropriate level. Finally to offer each student the opportunity to develop a possible career in semi-professional football as there will be a clear career path towards the Grantham Town FC First Team.’

We are extremely pleased to be able to partner and work with the Grantham College to deliver a Football Development Centre which will allow talented footballers to both train full time and also to continue their education in the locality.
