Grantham College art student wins trip to Rome at Starpack Awards
The Art and Design team at Grantham College are extremely proud to see four students win at the Student Starpack Awards 2016.
Olivia Anderson who is studying the BTEC L3 Extended Diploma Art & Design has achieved a Gold award alongside the Logoplaste sponsors award of an all-expenses paid trip to Rome, Italy to visit Logoplaste's dedicated manufacturing plant for Listerine Mouthwash containers. Olivia will work with the Logoplaste teams focusing on design, packaging and engineering support, followed by a visit/overview of the J&J Listerine manufacturing plant. The visit will also include a personal tour guide, for her to enjoy some of Rome’s unique art and culture. Olivia’s winning design idea was for a new generation of Listerine mouthwash.
The judges comments were “Lovely theme. Pearly Whites is well pitched. Good environmental credentials and distinctive pack. Reduces waste and we thought the refill sachets were a great idea. Boards were excellent, Well done!”
Josh Hillson also won Bronze Star Award for new uses of corrugated board, designing a decorative fly trap. And Iedric Maniego and Ralph Cabiscuelas won commended Starpack awards.
The awards presentation will be held head office of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining in London on 29th June 2016. The Starpack Awards is in its 58th Year and incorporates schools, colleges, university students and companies from the packaging design industry. As Starpack winners they will also has the fantastic opportunity to enter into the Worldstar packaging awards.
