Specialist Industry Educator Programme

Grantham College is a partner on the Specialist Industry Educator programme, led by Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) and developed by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (GLLEP).  The aim of the programme is to encourage industry specialists to support FE Colleges and training providers in developing courses that are relevant to the skills and knowledge required to grow the economy of Greater Lincolnshire

Why get involved?

It is estimated that there will be 200,000 vacancies across Greater Lincolnshire over the next 10 years which will be difficult to fill.  It is essential that FE colleges and providers deliver the right training to meet these needs.  Industry experts aren’t always trained teachers, and the Specialist Industry Educator programme provides teaching and training skills and experience to individuals with specialist know-how.

How can you get involved?

As an employer, you can get involved and influence training in Greater Lincolnshire.  When you sign up to the Specialist Industry Educator programme, you can support vocational training in one or more of the following ways:

-        Access to FREE professional teaching courses to improve presentation and communication skills, and increase confidence delivered by a BGU teacher education specialist

-        Deliver specialist masterclasses to our students, supporting their training to meet the needs of your industry

-        Host industry visits and collaboration with Grantham College teaching staff to support their understanding of business needs

By engaging with our students and staff, you can help us to secure the skilled workforce you need for future growth.
