The weekend before last saw 20 of our Table Tennis Academy players head to Derby Arena to compete in the final weekend of the Table Tennis England Youth British Clubs League event.

Our 20 players were split into six teams in six different divisions – Girls & Boys Premier and Boys Divisions 1, 2, 4 and 5.
Having just missed out on winning the league for the last couple of years, the girls gave it their all succeeded this year in winning the Premier title – this is a first for the Academy for the girls! The girls also achieved some great match wins across the league with Hannah Silcock winning 19 of her 20 matches, and Ella Pashley securing an 80% win rate.
The Boys were defending their Premier title from last year, but unfortunately luck was not on their side and with one of our players picking up an injury on the Saturday afternoon, they finished the weekend 3rd in the table.

There was more success in the divisions, with Division 2 boys, Noah Levens, Sebi Farrin-Thorne and Adam Watson securing 2nd place in the league winning silver and in Division 1 the boys finishing, 3rd, Division 2 they came 4th and Division 5 boys ended the weekend in 5th.
Performance Coach Olly Tyndall was delighted with the success they achieved across the competition and stated that it is “a pleasure to work with a such a wonderful, dedicated, and hard-working group of players. They are a delight to coach and they should all be extremely proud of what they have achieved.”
