On Friday 16th May, we welcomed two groups students from Esland Grantham School to take part in Construction and Art based workshops here at Grantham College.
It was a morning of practical learning as students got to have a go at sessions in bricklaying, carpentry and clay model making. All sessions were led by lecturers, who were on hand to give demonstrations and offer advice and guidance about the courses we offer. The sessions were wonderfully supported by our current T-level and Apprenticeship students, who gave up their day off to share their knowledge and first-hand experiences of studying and training at Grantham College.

Each session was designed to provide a realistic insight into the skills and techniques required in each sector and possible courses and careers linked to them.

Laura from Esland School said ‘We had a fantastic time today. The children have not stopped talking about the morning, they even have begged the deputy head to do more! They loved it all but have not stopped telling everyone about the construction!’
We look forward to running more events like these in the future. If you are interested in bringing a school group please email us at marketing@grantham.ac.uk
