Last week students on our L3 Applied Science course received a visit from the National Space Academy as part of UKSA’S National Space to Learn project to give our students exciting curriculum linked space masterclasses.
The interactive sessions gave students a taste of real rocket science by creating their own compressed air rockets and CD hovercrafts. Students also explored the workings of refractive and infra-red telescopes, such as NASA’S James Webb Space Telescope, which allows us to see the universe in ways never before possible.
As expected, the students were totally engaged with the subject and very much inspired by the numerous career possibilities in space technology and related industries!
