Professional Accountants are recognised around the world as respected leaders in accountancy, finance and business. From providing strategic business advice to auditing financial statements or driving mergers and acquisitions, a career as a Professional Accountant can be diverse and challenging. Professional Accountants use technical knowledge, skills and experience to lead organisations and people to make responsible and sustainable financial decisions.
You will be required to organise a work placement.
At Grantham College we will equip you to meet the requirements of the Professional Accounting Apprenticeship Standard (attached) by delivering the AAT 4 qualification and working with you and your employer to build a portfolio of evidence which will demonstrate that you have developed the skills and behaviours to meet the required level of competence for a Professional Accountant.
When you and your employer feel you have reached the required level of competence they will put you forward for the End Point Assessment which consists of two elements: 1. Role simulation giving you an opportunity to tackle a series of business-related tasks through a simulated exercise. This will be assessed through the AAT synoptic assessment that maps to the current AQ2016 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting qualification (Level 4) 2. Portfolio of evidence that demonstrates competence in the knowledge, skills and behaviours in the standard, which have been gathered from practical experience in the workplace, combined with a reflective statement that draws on the portfolio. The reflective statement will be assessed by two Independent Assessors and will take the form of a written statement, a presentation or a professional discussion.
The employer will sign an Apprenticeship Agreement. The college will complete a Health & Safety Advisory visit at the learners usual place of work. The employer pays the apprentice wage.
