NCFE Certificate Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes (Level 2)

Overview

Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes will be ideal for anyone whose work may bring them into contact with people who have diabetes. This includes health-care workers, people who work with children and young people, and those employed in the uniformed services. It may also be of interest to people who have diabetes themselves.

Am I Ready?

There are no formal entry requirements however learners should be aged 19 or above at the start of the academic year to undertake this qualification.  Learners must be able to read and understand the learning resources and complete the written work with moderate assistance and will therefore benefit from having a reasonable understanding of reading and writing the English language. Course Details

YOU CAN START THIS COURSE AT ANY TIME THROUGHOUT THE ACADEMIC YEAR BUT THERE IS AN EXPECTATION THAT YOU WILL COMPLETE WITHIN TWELVE WEEKS.  FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE WILL INCUR A £50 ADMINISTRATION CHARGE.

The Level 2 Certificate in Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes comprises four mandatory units presented in two concise module workbooks:

Unit 1: Understand diabetes

Unit 2: Prevention and early intervention of Type 2 diabetes

Unit 3: Understanding the initial care of diabetes

Unit 4: Understanding the treatment and management of diabetes.

Assessment

Learners will be provided with all necessary workbooks to complete the programme and will be required to work through a series of tasks and activities designed to reinforce the learning process and test their knowledge. The learning materials include an assessment, which allows learners to demonstrate achievement of all learning outcomes associated with each unit.

Fees & Funding

Low Income / Unemployed Seeking Work

Students that are unemployed and currently seeking work, or on a low income of up to £20,319 per annum may be able to enrol to a course at Level 2 or below free of charge. This is a government initiative and the course offer is subject to change. Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government. This does not affect your rights under Consumer Law.
