NCFE Certificate Principles of Team Leading (Level 2)

Overview

This qualification is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required to successfully lead a team.  This will focus on the study of leading a team in a business environment.

The qualification is delivered using our online portal. You will need access to a computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone to complete it.
Am I Ready?

There are no formal entry requirements however learners should be aged 19 or above at the start of the academic year to undertake this qualification.  Learners must be able to read and understand the learning resources and complete the written work with moderate assistance and will therefore benefit from having a reasonable understanding of reading and writing the English language. Course Details

YOU CAN START THIS COURSE AT ANY TIME THROUGHOUT THE ACADEMIC YEAR BUT THERE IS AN EXPECTATION THAT YOU WILL COMPLETE WITHIN TWELVE WEEKS.  FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE WILL INCUR A £50 ADMINISTRATION CHARGE.

The objectives of this qualification are to help learners to: • develop their knowledge of the principles of team leading • develop their understanding of business • develop the knowledge needed to support communication with a range of stakeholders at different levels.

To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully complete 3 mandatory units and 5 optional units, the mandatory units are: 

  • Principles of team leading.  
  • Understand business.  
  • Understand how to communicate work-related information.

While completing this qualification, learners may develop the knowledge, understanding and essential skills employers look for in employees. These range from familiar ‘key skills’, such as team working, independent learning and problem solving, to more tricky-to-measure skills, such as:

• an appreciation for appropriate behaviour and dress

• appropriate interpersonal skills

• communicating with professional colleagues/peers and/or hierarchical seniors

• supporting other aspiring employees

• personal manners and deportment

• understanding work practices and how different roles and departments function within an organisation.

Assessment

This is a knowledge-based qualification, which is assessed via a portfolio of evidence.

Fees & Funding

Low Income / Unemployed Seeking Work

Students that are unemployed and currently seeking work, or on a low income of up to £20,319 per annum may be able to enrol to a course at Level 2 or below free of charge. This is a government initiative and the course offer is subject to change. Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government. This does not affect your rights under Consumer Law.
