NCFE Certificate Common Health Conditions (Level 2)

Overview

This course is aimed at anybody who wishes to improve their knowledge and understanding of common health conditions. It will particularly appeal to individuals who have a professional or personal interest in arthritis care, stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s disease and sensory loss awareness. It will also appeal to organisations within the health and social care sector that provide support to individuals with conditions such as these. It has relevance to all types of health-care settings, including care homes, hospitals and domiciliary care.

Am I Ready?

There are no formal entry requirements however learners should be aged 19 or above at the start of the academic year to undertake this qualification.  Learners must be able to read and understand the learning resources and complete the written work with moderate assistance and will therefore benefit from having a reasonable understanding of reading and writing the English language. Course Details

YOU CAN START THIS COURSE AT ANY TIME THROUGHOUT THE ACADEMIC YEAR BUT THERE IS AN EXPECTATION THAT YOU WILL COMPLETE WITHIN TWELVE WEEKS.  FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE WILL INCUR A £50 ADMINISTRATION CHARGE.

There are 3 modules to complete which cover the following areas.

  • Arthritis awareness
  • Stroke awareness
  • Dementia awareness
  • Parkinson’s disease awareness
  • Sensory loss awareness
  • Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions
Assessment

Learning materials comprise a set of high-quality workbooks, which have been produced to suit a range of delivery methods. These materials have been officially endorsed by the relevant awarding organisation as fit for purpose. Learners will be provided with all the necessary materials to complete the programme and will have the opportunity to work through a series of reflective activities designed to reinforce the learning process. The learning materials also include an assessment.

Fees & Funding

Low Income / Unemployed Seeking Work

Students that are unemployed and currently seeking work, or on a low income of up to £20,319 per annum may be able to enrol to a course at Level 2 or below free of charge. This is a government initiative and the course offer is subject to change. Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government. This does not affect your rights under Consumer Law.
