CAVA Access HE - Diploma Health and Social Care (Full Level 3)

Overview

This course has been designed to be flexible enough to suit your needs, especially if you have personal, domestic or work responsibilities which need to be fitted around your studies.

Am I Ready?

Prospective students should have both GCSE maths and English at Level 4/Grade C or above. If a student has only one of these qualifications, there may be the opportunity to study maths or English GCSE alongside their Access course, but not both. We strongly recommend that GCSE English is obtained before the start of the Access course.

Course Details

The course enrols twice in every academic year (in September and late January) and all classes are timetabled between the hours of 9.30am - 3.00pm, three days a week, with no classes during the school holidays. The course includes Biology, Sociology, Psychology and academic study skills. Teaching methods on the course are varied and include lectures, workshops, self-directed research and study, laboratory practicals and seminar presentations.

Reports, essays, exams, presentations.

Fees & Funding

Level 2 / Level 3

Students enrolling onto their first full Level 2 or Level 3 course or below who are aged between 19 and 23 may be able to enrol for free. This is a government initiative and the course offer is subject to change. Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government. This does not affect your rights under Consumer Law.

Adult Learning Loan

Advanced Learning Loan to help with college fees on applicable course. Students won’t have to pay anything back until the end of their course and are earning £27,295 per year. Household income isn’t taken into account and there’s no credit check. Eligibility is dependent on course, nationality, and age to meet the ESFA funding eligibility criteria.

Your Next Steps

If you successfully complete this QAA Access course you will be awarded a diploma by CAVA (www.cava.ac.uk). This diploma will allow you to progress on to a degree or higher diploma level courses in a wide range of areas including but not limited to: Nursing. Midwifery. Paramedic Science. Occupational therapy. Physiotherapy. Podiatry. Speech and language therapy.
