HTQ Edexcel BTEC HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering for England (Level 4)

Overview

Do you want to be an electrical engineer? The HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering course will teach you the fundamentals of electronics, electrical engineering, power engineering and mathematics.

This part-time, day-release course runs over 1.5 academic years and is ideal for those starting out in the electrical and electronic engineering sector or looking to progress in their current role. It provides a strong foundation for further study and training, with successful students having the opportunity to progress directly into the second year of our HND Electrical and Electronic Engineering course.

The HND builds on the knowledge gained in the HNC and is designed to enhance your skills further. It is particularly suited to those working in areas such as electronic design, power engineering, manufacturing or maintenance.

Teaching takes place at Grantham College and involves between 7.5 and 9 hours per week, delivered through a mix of lectures, practical workshops and tutorials. For every taught hour, students are expected to undertake at least one hour of self-directed study.

The course is taught by a team of specialist staff with a range of industrial, academic and teaching experience. All lecturers hold either a BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) in their area of expertise.

Am I Ready?
  • Level 3 in Engineering related qualification, or
  • A-level physics and mathematics with supporting passes at GCSE A, B or C in an appropriate science or technology subject, or
  • Other Qualifications & Industrial experience will be considered on merit.
