Highfield Certificate Retail Knowledge (Level 2)

Overview

This distance learning course is suitable for someone already working in the retail sector or who wants a career in retail.

Access to a laptop/technology is required to complete this course and submit the evidence electronically, if you have any issues with this please get in touch.

Am I Ready?

There are no formal entry requirements however learners should be aged 19 or above at the start of the academic year to undertake this qualification.  This course is aimed at those who have already completed Level 1 Retail.  Learners must be able to read and understand the learning resources and complete the written work with moderate assistance and will therefore benefit from having a reasonable understanding of reading and writing the English language. Course Details

YOU CAN START THIS COURSE AT ANY TIME THROUGHOUT THE ACADEMIC YEAR BUT THERE IS AN EXPECTATION THAT YOU WILL COMPLETE WITHIN TWELVE WEEKS.  FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE COURSE WILL INCUR A £50 ADMINISTRATION CHARGE.

The distance learning course covers a number of areas of retail including, understanding customer service in the retail sector., understanding handling customer payments in the retail business, understanding the retail selling process, understanding how individuals and teams contribute to the effectiveness of the retail business, understand security and loss prevention in a retail business and understand how a retail business maintains health and safety on its premises. There are 6 workbooks to complete. The course is delivered over an 12 week period and the student will be expected to complete 6 workbooks to a satisfactory standard in their own time. Additional tutor support is provided for the duration of the course via email, telephone, test message and post. Access to a laptop/technology is required to complete this course and submit the evidence electronically although students can complete paper copies of the workbooks if this is not accessible to them.

Assessment

Completion of 6 workbooks that are assessed internally and are externally moderated by the awarding body.

Fees & Funding

Low Income / Unemployed Seeking Work

Students that are unemployed and currently seeking work, or on a low income of up to £20,319 per annum may be able to enrol to a course at Level 2 or below free of charge. This is a government initiative and the course offer is subject to change. Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government. This does not affect your rights under Consumer Law.
