Hair Professional Apprenticeship Standard (Level 2)

This apprenticeship is a great way to learn on the job and qualify with a highly recognised qualification. You will complete 20% off the job training – partly made up by attending college one day a week and the rest will be made up training in the salon.

You need 3 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above.

The apprenticeship standards consist of a level 2 diploma for hair professionals, which includes practical and theory learning requirements covering consultation, shampoo/condition hair, cutting hair using a variety of techniques, colouring and lightening hair using a variety of techniques and style, set and finish hair using a variety of techniques.

There will be a 6 hour end point assessment.

Apprenticeships' minimum wage is £3.90 per hour.

You could progress onto an advanced apprenticeship or full time employment.
