Engineering MOET Apprenticeship Standard (Level 3)

Overview

The MOET Engineering apprenticeship provides the skills and underpinning knowledge for both basic and advanced electrical and maintenance processes and includes an end-test at the end of the apprenticeship which includes both a knowledge and practical skills test. To study an apprenticeship you must have employment within the trade.

Am I Ready?

It is advisable that you will have GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English Language, maths and science. You will also have to have a pre-assessment by the College with you and your employer to ensure that you will be able to meet the requirement for the MOET standard.

Course Details

The MOET standard is a bespoke course that is tailored with your employer to meet the knowledge, skills and behaviours relevant to your job role. Whilst there are no qualifications within this standard apprentices will study a wide range of subjects relevant to their role within the workplace ranging from, mechanical principles, hydraulics/pneumatics, delivery of engineering processes safely as a team, product design and manufacturing engineering, electrical and electronic principles, CAD (Computer Aided Drawing), electronic devices and circuits and maintenance of mechanical system.

Assessment

Assessment will take place both during and at the end of the Apprenticeship (EPA), with completion being dependant on successful achievement of all the elements and the endorsement of the employer after a professional discussion, with the apprentice training provider (Grantham College). A portfolio of evidence to underpin the knowledge required for oral questioning during the EPA. The EPA is graded pass, fail or distinction Pass or Fail) after the completion of a knowledge test, skills test and oral questioning.

Additional Information

On successful completion of the level 3 course there is the opportunity to progress to the HNC/HND Engineering course here at Grantham College. There is potential opportunity to move into a higher level apprenticeship or employment in the engineering sector.
