Digital Skills Bootcamp - IT Solutions (Level 4)

Overview

This is an introductory course looking into the use of computer networks. The course will follow a combination of theory and practical exercises using Cisco Packet Tracer and Amazon AWS Academy.

Am I Ready?

No prior attainment is required to enrol on the bootcamp. Skills Bootcamps are open to all adults aged 19 or over on 31 August 2022, who are full-time or part-time employed, self-employed, unemployed (i.e., not in work), as well as adults returning to work after a break.

Course Details

On this course you will learn about:

  • Downloading and installing Packet Tracer.
  • Configuring devices with Packet Tracer.
  • Configuring devices using GUI and CLI.
  • Creating a simple network.
  • Network hardware essentials: hubs, repeaters, switches, interface cards and routers.
Assessment

In order to successfully achieve this qualification a learner must fully meet all of the learning outcomes. This will be met by internal assessment work.

Your Next Steps

Learners may progress onto our full-time courses in Digital Skills: Information and Creative Technology (Level 2), IT Diploma or Extended Diploma (Level 3), or our new T-Level in Digital Business Services. We also have opportunities for apprenticeships in Digital Marketing, Digital Support, and IT Solutions.
