C&G Diploma Plastering (Full Level 2)

Overview

Level 2 is ideal if you have some working knowledge or skill already in plastering – from taking a lower qualification like the Level 1 or have been working under supervision in Industry. This course will provide recognition of those skills, giving you a chance of progression or take on more responsibility.  

Am I Ready?

Level 2 is ideal if you have some working knowledge of plastering - probably from taking a lower level of qualification, or working under supervision in the industry. You want recognition for your skills, giving you the chance to take on more responsibility. 

Course Details

Depending on the pathway you choose - 'solid' or 'fibrous' - you will learn how to:

  • Apply plastering materials to interiors
  • Fix dry lining and plasterboards to interiors
  • Lay sand and cement screeds
  • Apply plastering materials to external backgrounds
  • Produce reverse moulds for fibrous work
  • Cast and fix fibrous plasterwork.
Assessment

This qualification will be achieved through a mixture of external question papers and practical observations.

Fees & Funding

Sixteen / Eighteen

Full Time Further Education courses are free to school leavers and those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course. Exam resit fees may apply as applicable.

Level 2 / Level 3

Students enrolling onto their first full Level 2 or Level 3 course or below who are aged between 19 and 23 may be able to enrol for free. This is a government initiative and the course offer is subject to change. Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government. This does not affect your rights under Consumer Law.

Low Income / Unemployed Seeking Work

Students that are unemployed and currently seeking work, or on a low income of up to £25,750 per annum may be able to enrol to a course at Level 2 or below free of charge. This is a government initiative and the course offer is subject to change. Grantham College reserves the right to offer a substitute course if the qualification advertised is not funded by the government. This does not affect your rights under Consumer Law.

Additional Information

In order to be able to study on this course you will need to purchase a kit which includes the essential range of equipment for you to start the course. A construction site uniform is also available to order and is mandatory. Both kit and uniform should be ordered in advance of starting the course. You will also need to wear steel toe capped boots when entering all areas within the construction site.

Your Next Steps

Completion of this qualification will enable you to progress onto the Level 3 Diploma in Plastering and study towards becoming an Advanced Level Plasterer. You could also work within the industry or secure a Craft plasterer Apprenticeship with an employer.
