Level 2 is a continuation of the level 1 qualification. This will reinforce and develop skills in food preparation and cooking for customers within the College's Apple Tree restaurant with a view to progressing on to level 3.
Level 1 Diploma in Introduction to Professional Cookery or equivalent and successful completion of a skills test.
This qualification builds on the skill and knowledge acquired at Level 1 and prepares candidates for employment or further study. Topics covered in this course include:
Each unit is assessed by a combination of externally set assessments and multiple choice tests. Craft units are assessed by a series of practical assessments covering the range of different commodities.
Full Time Further Education courses are free to school leavers and those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course. Exam resit fees may apply as applicable.</p.

All students are expected to work towards a grade C GCSE in maths & English.
