This qualification is intended for those wanting to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the plumbing industry. You will learn how to deal with leaky pipes, water systems and drainage.

Knowledge tasks, practical tasks and internally marked questions are carried out to gain successful completion of this qualification.
Full Time Further Education courses are free to school leavers and those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course. Exam resit fees may apply as applicable.

In order to be able to study on this course you will need to purchase a kit which includes the essential range of equipment for you to start the course. A construction site uniform is also available to order and is mandatory. Both kit and uniform should be ordered in advance of starting the course. You will also need to wear steel toe capped boots when entering all areas within the construction site.
On successful completion learners would be recognised by the industry as a ‘competent plumber’. This could lead to the following employment opportunities :
• Plumbing and heating engineer.
• Domestic heating installer.
